Ultra-Lightweight & Minimalist Design
The X-Gun is purpose-built for drones, where every gram saved directly translates to increased flight time, extended range, and enhanced maneuverability.
• 397g Upper Receiver Assembly
• 1.2kg complete assembly w/ standard lower and standard barrel
• 356mm OAL w/ 5.5" barrel
Hybrid Piston Operating System
The best features of Direct Impingement (accuracy) and the best features of long-stroke operation (no fouling; clean & reliable operation), achieved by strategic placement of the piston preventing the piston’s reciprocation from interfering with barrel harmonics.
Bufferless & Compact Architecture
The X-Gun completely eliminates the traditional AR-15 buffer tube, a major source of length and bulk. All recoil springs and operating components are entirely housed within the upper receiver. This design allows for a significantly shorter and more compact firearm profile, enabling seamless integration into drone airframes without unnecessary protrusions or aerodynamic penalties.
Toolless & Rapid Assembly/Disassembly
Facilitates quick maintenance, transport, and modularity in dynamic operational environments.
Optimized for Remote & Automated Operation
The X-Gun intentionally dispenses with human-focused features, which are rendered unnecessary by automated control, such as a traditional pistol grip, handguard, or fixed Picatinny rails, as these add superfluous weight and bulk.
An electronically controlled trigger further allows for autonomous or remote activation by a human operator.
AR-15/M16 Component Compatibility
The X-Gun is compatible with standard, off-the-shelf AR-15/M16 components and ammunition (5.56). This includes attachment points for standard lower receivers, barrels, and bolts, allowing operators to leverage existing supply chains, proven components, and familiar maintenance procedures.
Removable, Non-Reciprocating Charging Handle
For manual action cycling when needed, the X-Gun features a removable, non-reciprocating charging handle. This handle is inserted into a dedicated channel for operation and then removed prior to firing. This design choice aligns with the philosophy of optimizing weight by removing human-focused features.
